AskRI.org is Rhode Island’s “Online Reference Center”. The state of Rhode Island sets aside a small portion of the state’s budget toward providing free access to comprehensive reference databases. AskRI.org is the online hub for accessing these resources.
As part of my role as Digital Content Coordinator at Providence Public Library, I was tasked with rebuilding and reorganizing AskRI.org. To achieve this I built a custom WordPress theme that includes a bunch of new features. The revised AskRI.org provides a clean interface and new features like user accounts, and a reorganization of site content, making it easier for users to access information about the reference resources AskRI.org offers.
